Influences of Popular Culture 

The Popular Culture and Contemporary Happenings Focus:

The purpose of the journal is to provide a forum for the stimulation and dissemination of research concepts and theory relating to the examination of sport management and peripheral areas of study through providing an outlet for academic and practical exploration addressing the needs and interests of the growing field of sport management and related areas. By examining both high profile, mainstream aspects as well as giving consideration to the lesser known but nonetheless important aspects that are far too ignored in academic circles.

 

Manuscript Types

Research Articles focusing on the various topics of interest pertaining to the intersection of Popular Culture and Media in Sport.

Review Essays: Essays examining cultural artifacts such as films, music, television, books, articles, etc., that are impacting the intersection of sport management and peripheral areas and popular culture, special topics, and contemporary happenings and issues.

Articles focusing on thought-provoking commentary on particular themes. The various themes associated with Popular Culture and Media in Sport include commentary essays aimed at provoking thought, stimulating debate, and developing theoretical positions on varied topics related to the social consequence of sport (i.e., in-depth review essays on books, films, and other resources).

 

Manuscript Submissions are to follow the general guidelines for SMART. The deadline for manuscripts submissions was March 1, 2008.
